SHORT FEATURE ON THE EXHIBITION ON WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY

LOOK, STRANGER!
Technologies of Lens-based Practice in South Asia

Serendipity Arts Festival
15 December 2019 – 15 January 2020
Old GIM, Ribander, Goa

On World Photography Day, as a special recap and preview to further clips on the ‘Look, Stranger!’ exhibition from 2019-2020, we preface here, the thematic thrusts and motivations of the exhibition. Featuring over 35 artistsfrom across South Asia the exhibition presented an extended dialogue around the shadow lines of lens-based practices that were influenced by the technological ethos of the turn of the last century. In dialogue now with contemporary practitioners who encode new pathways through creative media practices, the exhibition addressed how art and technology have become essential to each other’s evolution.
